AMATEUR RADIO

My hobby for a lifetime.

Amateur Radio Biography

Ham Radio is the hobby for a lifetime for me. First licensed as Novice class operator in May 1989. In July 1989, I Drove 150 miles to a volunteer exam session at FIT in Melbourne, FL to upgrade to Technician class, as VE exams sessions were not available in my area at the time. In May 1990, upgraded to Advanced class, skipping General class. Changed callsigns from KC4KGN and got KT4WX. This is not a vanity callsign, it was sequentially issued. On April 15, 2000, upgraded to Amateur Extra class, the day the last license restructing took place.

I have been active on the radio over most of the time since being first licensed, but recently became more active again after being nearly inactive from 2004-2006.
